cpondy > Today it begins. I used to be a photographer. As silly as that sounds that is the case. I sold all my gear after working as a photojournalist and owning a small studio to start a new career as a teacher, father, and husband, all of which has been great, but recently I have been bitten by the bug again. I have started investing a bunch of money back in to my gear and have begun to see the world through the eyes of a lens again. I have forgotten how much fun it is!

Well today my newest shipment arrived. A gently used Canon 70-200 f4 IS and a 1.4 teleconverter. So what better plays to give it a run than at the high school baseball game. I haven't shot a baseball game in over 10 years, but man was it a blast! So it has inspired me to stop lurking around here and start playing. I may not make it on a daily basis, but for now, I am going to make an effort to post something every couple of days. The more I shoot, the better I feel, the happier I am, and the better father, husband, and teacher I become. So thanks all for the inspiration to step out and enjoy something I have always loved but seem to have forgotten to enjoy!
cpondy > 3/27 - Friday

I spent the day shooting more baseball, had so much fun earlier in the week I went back again!
cpondy > 3/28 Saturday

Baseball again, tag at first

Technically not a great shot, but pretty neat to see these guys hanging out in front of the post office today! LIghting was tough, shot at a long range with large aperture so the baby is soft and mom is in the shadow. Want to go back with better lighting.

Turned a corner and found that I was face to face with this cougar taking down this cow elk. It was amazing even though it was in Cabela's! The expression on the cougars face is absolutely amazing.

Enjoy
cpondy > Took my new Canon 50D out for a few shot as the sun was fading tonight. I didn't take a tripod with me, so a bit of camera shake if inspected close, but still a nice shot I think for a quick grab.

Stock image from last summer, but it is one of my favorites.

Another glorious day in the sun out shooting baseball. Love my new 50D and it's 5 to 6fps! This is one of a series of about 8 shots that caught the runner sliding safely into 3rd base.

Enjoy!
